William J. “Bill” Wilson, 67, of Levering, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey.
Bill was born Petoskey on September 3, 1944, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Greenier) Wilson, the 11th child of 11 children. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1966, and later, on September 25, 1976 in Pellston, he married Jill Kleckner. He was employed as an operating engineer with local #324 of Detroit, retiring in 2000 after 34 years of employment. Bill also enjoyed spending time outdoors, small game hunting, fishing, and socializing with his many wonderful friends, from toddlers to the elderly. He was not aware of the positive and profound effect he had on his family and friends, and how much everyone loved him. His nephew once said, “He could chew you out, but we kept coming back, …..and knew he still loved us.”
Surviving are his wife, Jill, two sons, Frank (Stacy) Wilson of Petoskey, and Robert “Willie” (Roxanne) Wilson of Laingsburg, several grandchildren, his twin brothers, Donald “Blackie” Wilson of Pellston, and Ronald “Pinkie” (Susie) Wilson of Arcadia, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Betty Jenkins, Maxine Clapp, Delores Jurstick, and Nancy Rudy, and four brothers, Wilbur, Bob, Harold, and Chuck Wilson.
