Welcome to the memorial page for

Anna May Bosma

January 13, 2002 ~ June 18, 2016 (age 14) 14 Years Old

Heaven has gained the most perfect angel.  On Saturday, June 18, 2016 Anna Bosma, daughter of Buck and Heidi and big sister to Jacob, passed from this life and into the loving arms of our Lord, following a valiant and determined fight with cancer.

This unique and precious young lady was born Anna May Bosma in Petoskey on January 13, 2002.  She grew up in Harbor Springs and attended Harbor Springs Schools.

Her family and friends will remember this young lady for the strength of her character and her determination to never be defined by her illness.  She loved few things more than a great day spent camping, hunting or skiing with her family and close friends; then returning home to curl up with her dog and a great book.

Throughout her struggle, Anna touched many lives and with each life she touched, she gained a new friend.  Her caregivers at Mott's Children's Hospital became like family; they found her wisdom, strength and courage to be unique in a person of her limited years.  As mentioned earlier, Anna loved to read.  So much so, when she was asked by her doctor Tracy Hills, to name her favorite book, Anna's response was, "To pick a favorite book, is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child".  To know this girl was to love her!

Anna's surviving family include her dad and mom, Buck and Heidi and her brother Jacob, her grandparents Les and Louise Bosma, Tom and Lavonne VerBurg, great grandparents John and Arlene Bosma and Leone Beckett, her uncles and aunts Mindy and John Binko, LeeAnn and Johnny Johnston and Tiffany and Shawn Andrus, Jackie Simmons and Daniel VerBurg, and her cousins Jack, Hadley, Adison, Konle, Jordan and Landen.  Also surviving Anna are her many dear friends that she cherished and held close to her heart as well an entire community who supported her and her family through these difficult years.

Her family plans to remember, honor and celebrate her life on Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Harbor Light Community Chapel in Harbor Springs.  Those attending this celebration of Anna's life can also remember her by wearing clothing with her favorite colors of coral and turquoise.  Visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon.  Interment services are private and will take place be near the Bosma family farm in Pleasantview Cemetery.

While flowers are welcome, Buck and Heidi strongly encourage friends to consider donations in Anna's memory to Mott's Children's Hospital.
