Barbara Marie (Rex) Weaver

Barbara Marie Weaver, 77

Barbara M. Weaver, 77 of Harbor Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. 

She was born June 27, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to William J. and Marian B. (Burk) Rex.  She grew up in Flint and was a graduate of Flint Technical High School. 

She married David F. Weaver on July 20, 1957; together they raised two children David and Lora.  Barb has resided in Northern Michigan for many years, working primarily in retail and until recently was employed by Home Depot.  Barb was the quintessential people person, never having met a stranger.  She could make just about anyone feel within minutes of meeting her, that you had known her your whole life.  She was a caregiver in the truest sense, she was warm, loving and empathetic.  She enjoyed a number of crafts, but primarily knitting and crochet.

Surviving Barb is her husband David and their two children David Carl of Harbor Springs and Lora (Harvey) Washburn of Harvest, Alabama, two grandchildren Jennifer (Thomas) Harning of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Melissa Washburn of Harvest, Alabama, two great grandchildren Natalie and Daniel Harning of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and her brother William (Maxine) Rex of Myrtle Beach South Carolina, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings Lewis Rex and Maria Rex.
