Betty W. (Rundell) Metro

Betty W. Metro, age 88 of Cheboygan passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Villa At The Bay in Petoskey. She was born January 24, 1927 in Peck, MI, the daughter of Lee and Mary (Saumby) Rundell. On June 20, 1947 in Rochester, MI, Betty married Marvin Metro who preceded her in death in December of 2002. 

Betty worked as an inspector at a manufacturing facility in Rochester and retired after more than 25 years of service. She and Marvin moved to Afton upon their retirement. Betty moved to Cheboygan in 2003 and was a member of the Cheboygan County Farm Bureau. 

Survivors include her special friends, Lila (Russ) Mealoy of Cheboygan and their family, David Griswold of Marysville, Maryellen (Mike) Cherry of Cheboygan and Roger (Dianne) Griswold of Iron Mountain, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Marvin, Betty was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home with the family greeting friends beginning at Noon. Ned Workman will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cheboygan County Humane Society.
