Carol Elizabeth (Trudo) Tschirhart

Carol E. Tschirhart, age 83, of Cheboygan entered heaven's gate on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.  She was born September 8, 1934 in Cheboygan, the daughter of the late George and Ella (Chasse) Trudo. On April 22, 1957 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Alverno, Carol married Philip Tschirhart. 

Carol graduated from St. Charles High School in 1952. She received her nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Detroit in 1955 and had worked as a Registered Nurse at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit.  She raised her six children before returning to her nursing career at Community Memorial Hospital.

Carol was a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church and in 1972 was appointed Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She was a 53 year member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was instrumental in raising funds to build the Hospice House and had worked as a volunteer nurse there. Carol had a special place in her heart for the Ladies Family Community Education (FCE) Group of Cheboygan where she made some of her best friends.

Carol is survived by her husband, Judge Philip Tschirhart of Cheboygan, six children, Douglas Tschirhart of Midland, Renee Tschirhart of Sault Ste. Marie, Stacy (John) Lafrinere of Cheboygan, Scott (Teresa) Tschirhart of Traverse City, George Tschirhart of Cheboygan and Daniel (Jennifer) Tschirhart of Langsburg, grandchildren, Morgan (Megan) Tschirhart, Daniel Alessandrini, John Lafrinere, Nicole (Thomas) Wolf, Alicia (Michael) Weber, Luke Lafrinere, Kourtney Tschirhart, and Nicklaus Tschirhart, great grandchildren, Blair, Nevah, Preston and Lincoln Tschirhart, Killa Alessandrini, Colton and Hannah Wolf and Myla Weber, her sister, Lois (Richard) Reimann of Cheboygan and her brother, Frederick (Marlene) Trudo of Grand Blanc. Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her and her sister, Marvel (Clare) Diamond.

Visitation will be held at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home this evening, Thursday, November 2nd from 6:00 - 8:00 PM with a rosary, led by the Daughters of Isabella, beginning at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church on Friday, November 3rd at 11:30 AM with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the mass. Rev. Duane Wachowiak will officiate and burial will take place at St. Francis Cemetery in Alverno.  Memorial contributions may be directed to mass intentions or Bishop Baraga School.
