Charles "Chuck, Charley, C.W." Williams

Chuck was a long-time resident and well-known figure in the Boyne City area, and owner/operator of "C. Williams Tree and Landscaping LLC.” He passed away in the early morning hours on May 15th at his home with his wife Jennifer Green-O'Hara at his side.

Along with his wife, he is survived by her three daughters: Kathleen Green, Margaret O'Hara, and Eileen Winter, whom he loved and supported as his own for the past ten years. Also surviving are two sons from a previous marriage: Robert "Tim" Williams, who follows in his father’s foot-steps in the landscaping business in Dryden MI, and son, Charles "Tom" Williams of Tennessee; a sister, Marilyn Kitchen; eight step-children of his deceased wife Dolores Shaver who died in 1995; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Chuck graced his family, friends and customers alike with his great strength and kindness. He was a true and trusted friend and took great pride in all that he did. He was supportive of his community and would give you the shirt off from his back and the last dollar from his pocket if you were in need.

Although he stood 6'6" tall with a booming voice that some say you could hear across the lake, he was as kind and gentle as could be and sensitive to those around him and to his community. He was known for his wit and storytelling and will be deeply missed. 

His business continues to operate under the ownership of his wife and his long-time employee and friend Robin Holley, whom he considered a son, and Rob's crew.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at a later date where all will be welcome. At Chuck’s request, any donations in his name will be to local food banks, the Eveline Township park system, or to the public areas in Boyne City. He was concerned about everyone having enough to eat and be able to enjoy the beauty in his beloved north wood.
