Delores M. (Baiardi) Sager

Delores M. Sager, 86, of Burt Township, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord.

Delores was born on December 20, 1928 in Detroit, MI.  She was the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Rocco) Baiardi.  She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Cooley High School in 1947.

On Sept. 9, 1950 Delores married Milton R. Sager in Highland Park.  The couple made their home in Detroit before moving to Dearborn Heights where they raised their family.  In 1960 the couple built a cottage on Burt Lake where they enjoyed northern Michigan, retiring there in 1989.  They enjoyed spending the winter months in Texas and Florida.

Delores enjoyed traveling, bowling, golf and reading.  She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cheboygan and a long time member  of the Indian River Golf Club.

She is survived by her husband, Milton; Children, Gale (Tom) Konkel of Indian River, Lynn (Dennis) Cowles of Indian River, Jill Sager of Farmington, Hills, MI, John Sager of Dearborn Heights, MI, Jimmy (Janice) Sager of Alma, MI, Tommy (Suzy) Sager of Sterling Heights, MI; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Tsolis of Wixsom, MI, Frank (Diane) Baiardi of Alanson, MI; several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Delores was preceded inj death by her grandson, Kevin Sager; brother, Joey Baiardi; son in law, Mark P. Ryan.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Cheboygan, MI.  Pastor Randy Johnson will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 9:15am until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church.
