Dorothy Lindman Obituary

Dorothy G. Lindman, 90, of Cheboygan, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at Hospice House in Cheboygan.

Dorothy was born November 6, 1927, in Cheboygan, the daughter of Archie and Bertha (Gignac) Miller.  As a young girl, music was a big part of her life.  She was a soloist for many special events in Cheboygan along with her tap dancing. She graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1945.  During her high school years she worked for the JC Penney Company and was also a Bell Telephone Operator.

She married Paul E. Lindman on November 25, 1948.  They celebrated 56 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2004.

Dorothy was an active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and sang in her church choir for 59 years.  She enjoyed singing the old melodies every Saturday morning at Tendercare of Cheboygan.  She was a Red Cross Blood Drive volunteer and was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award.  Most of all she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  She was a dedicated wife and mother.  Baking and cooking for them was her specialty. She was part of her Neighborhood Birthday Ladies celebrating birthdays with them for over 50 years and a proud member of the 80's Ladies birthday group from her church.

She is survived by four children; her daughter, Susan (David) Hudson and their children, David (Deanna) Hudson, and John (Kristin) Hudson, her son, David Lindman and children, Michelle Lindman, Scott (Keri) Lindman, Tucker (Breanna) Lorbak, and Dorothea Lindman, her son, Darrell (Susan) Lindman and their children, Ted Lindman, Peter Lindman and Hannah Lindman, and her son, John (Linda) Lindman and their son John (Theresa) Lindman.  She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Dorothy (Robert) Miller, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, and her three brothers Robert Miller, Richard Miller and Arthur "Chum" Miller.
