Duane Rutterbush

Duane was born on June 22, 1947, in Detroit, the son of Truman and Marion (Stevens) Rutterbush.

Duane passed quietly at his home in Petoskey, Wednesday, July 20, 2016.

The eldest of seven children, Duane never married. He lived most of his life at home with his mother and step father, Ray Belaen. He loved working as a dishwasher first at the Texan, then the Coral. When it closed he went to Stafford's Bay View Inn, working there for over 25 years. He retired but often called to see how everyone was doing.

Duane was preceded in death by his father, mother and step father; also his sisters, Julie Grubaugh and Mary Jewel; and a brother, Rodnie Rutterbush. He is survived by his sister, Eva (Duane) Rovang; brothers, Perry (Donna) Rutterbush and Richard Rutterbush; and by his good buddy, Tony. Duane leaves behind many relatives, all of whom enjoyed seeing him at family gatherings.
