Edward H. Jezewski

Edward H. Jezewski, age 92, of Cheboygan passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Hancock Haven. He was born September 26, 1924 in Detroit, the son of Stanley and Stella (Zookowski) Jezewski.

Ed was a member of the U.S. Army serving during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. On August 31, 1946 in Detroit, Ed married Josephine Como.

Ed owned and operated his own excavating and snow removal business in Livonia for many years and retired in his mid 70s. Upon his retirement, he and Josephine moved to their home on Long Lake. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Wayne, MI where he had served as Grand Knight.

Survivors include his wife Josephine of Cheboygan, three children, Stanley, of Cheboygan, Edward (Marlene) of Northville and Sharon (Phil) Bourget of Cheboygan, five grandchildren, Justin, Amy, Mariah, Chad and Bret, one great granddaughter, Shania and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Henrietta and Olga.

The funeral service will take place at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 27 at 11:00 AM with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the service. Chaplain Dianne Myers will officiate and burial with full military honors will take place at Pinehill Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ed’s name may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Disabled American Veterans.
