Sorry to hear of Mr Perry's passing. He was one of my favorite teachers in high school. Later in life, I got to be friends with him and I went from calling him "Mr Perry" to "Ed". It was always a joy when he and his brothers visited my business in Alpena when they were in port. You will be missed Ed....RIP.

When I was in elementary school and attending West Side School I would walk by the Jr. High School on the way to school and couldn't wait until I could go there and be in wood shop class. Mr. Perry was my teacher and I loved his class. Over the years I worked in the building trades selling millwork, casework and doors. I would like to think Mr. Perry had something to do with that. Now days I do woodcarving as a hobby and I still have items I made while in his class. I remember Mr. Perry carving a lion that stood about 2 feet high with marbles for the eyes. He worked on that off and on for a long time. I am sure it is still prized by someone after all these years. Thanks Mr. Perry for being a part of my life.

I worked with Ed for many years on the R/V Kaho, Lake Ontario. Ed was a hard-working Captain who was a pleasure to serve with. He never lost his positive outlook and even after a long day on the lake in nasty weather would have a humorous comment to lift the crew's spirits.
You will be missed Ed.
Smooth sailing.

What a shock. Ed was such a nice guy and I enjoyed seeing him at St. Thomas Church and at events connected with the Great Lakes. So sorry. He will be missed.

Ed also captained the US Fish & Wildlife vessel, Kaho, here in Oswego, NY on Lake Ontario. He was a frequent dinner guest at our home. Ed was a quiet, soft-spoken gentleman! Having come from a Great Lakes background, I loved hearing his stories. He reminded me of my old family friend "Tugboat Whitey"! Ed's passing is saddening in part because of his background and experiences. We need Ed Perrys in our world.
With fond remembrances. Kathi
