Evelyn M. (Kirchoff) Davis

EVELYN M DAVIS, 89, of Southfield and formerly of Cheboygan passed away peacefully on July 19, 2017. She was born May 10, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of Edward and Marie (Brandt) Kirchoff.  As a young girl, her family moved to Cheboygan where she attended and graduated from Cheboygan High School. She left Cheboygan as a young adult and headed back to Detroit where she had spent her early years and where family members remained. She married and raised her family in Commerce, MI.  She later moved back to Cheboygan to be with her parents; she had always felt Cheboygan was home.

Evelyn was a talented seamstress and a gifted artist, making wonderful flower arrangements and many beautiful paintings.  

She is survived by her daughters, Lori Pelto and Beth Ferguson, her grandson, Nathan (Brittanie) Pelto, granddaughters, Kelli and Rebecca Ferguson and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, her friend and first husband, James LaHaie, her brothers, Norman and Earl Kirchoff and her Grandson, Corey Pelto.

As per Evelyn’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
