I'm so glad that I got to grow up right next door to this one of a kind woman. She will be deeply missed... I can still hear her voice - saying things she shouldn't have - and her cackle...!! Love you Grandma!

My Mother's best friend. How I loved it when she came to visit! I would sit and listen to her and Mother talk until Mother would tell me to go out and play. I was always impressed with her pretty red nails, and how she could make my Mom laugh! She made me laugh too! When I was in sixth grade we had to make a homemade puppet and I put a hanger in to make my puppet stand up straight. Well, Mother and Flora Belle looked the puppet over. I said see how straight it stands up! Flora Belle got a huge grin and said well, you'd stand up straight too if you had a stick stuck in you!!! I stomped out while they howled with laughter. Always after that when I saw her she'd nudge me and say, "so how's your puppet". I saw Flora Belle at the hospital while visiting my Mother some years back and sure enough she had a big grin...How's your puppet, she said. I laughed so hard! She was a gem!!
