Hazel M. (Brooks) Boda

Hazel M. Boda, age 92, of Cheboygan passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Hospice House. She was born May 4, 1925 in Cheboygan, the daughter of the late Huburt and Lillian (Milmine) Brooks. On August 5, 1944 in Cheboygan, Hazel married Charles F. Boda who preceded her in death in 1982.

Hazel had worked as a sales clerk  for many years.

Hazel enjoyed gardening and going to the casino and was an auxiliary member of the D.A.V and the Cheboygan Eagles.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Susan Price and her son, Daniel Boda, both of Cheboygan, one sister, Alice Corlett of Cheboygan, five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lynn, Howard and George Brooks, four sisters, Bernice Brooks, Grace Miller, Maude Barrette and Sylvia Anderson and two great grandchildren.

The funeral mass will take place at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church on Thursday, November 9, at 11:00 AM with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Duane Wachowiak will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family.  Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
