Helen Rabideau

Helen A. Rabideau, 93, of Cheboygan, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at Tendercare of Cheboygan.

Helen was born March 23, 1923 in Toronto, Canada, to Mary Finley.  Her family later moved back to the Detroit area where she made her home for several years.  Helen married Vernard Rabideau of Cheboygan on October 19, 1940 and they made their home in Cheboygan.  She had been employed by several businesses in Cheboygan, Plymouth Industries, F.W. Woolworth, and finally, Cheboygan Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1989 after 25 years of service. Not having any children of her own, Helen loved animals and always had a cat and dog, and considered them her children.  She enjoyed visits with her friends and family.  Due to failing health, Helen entered Tendercare Health Center in March of 2011 and enjoyed the many activities and the friends she made while living there until her passing.

Surviving are her sister, Catherine (Hudson) Russell of Cheboygan, a brother, William (Margaret) Hudson of Muskegon, several nieces and nephews, and her good friend, Darlene Holling.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her step father, Reuben Hudson, her husband, Vernard in 1986, a sister, Eileen (Hudson) Schulz, and a brother, Harold Hudson.

No services are planned at this time.  Burial was at Pinehill Cemetery in Cheboygan.

Memorial may be made to the Cheboygan County Humane Society.
