Ida M. (Austin) Sackrider

Ida M. Sackrider, 87, of Wolverine, passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, November 30, 2015 at Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River.  Rev. Michael Sanders will officiate.  Interment will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine.  Visitation will be held Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Lintz Funeral Home from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm.

Ida was born on August 7, 1928 in Holly, MI.  She was the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Huble) Austin.  She grew up in Holly and graduated from Holly High School.

On March 25, 1950 Ida married Charlie Sackrider in Wolverine where the couple made their home and raised their sons.  Charlie preceded her in death in 1972.  Ida had been employed at Wolverine Schools as a custodian and also at Wolverine Camps as a cook.  She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, music, singing and being surrounded by family and friends.

Ida is survived by her sons; Kenneth Sackrider of Wolverine and Ricky Sackrider of Wolverine; siblings, Larry (Marilyn) Austin of Petoskey and Leatha Heitzner of Petoskey; brother in law, Fred (Sharon) Sackrider of Wolverine; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by ten of her siblings.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hiland Cottage or Cheboygan County Humane Society.
