James F. Borowski

 James F. Borowski passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015.  Jim was born at the family home in Cross Village on November 25, 1943 to Frank and Anna (Krupa) Borowski. He attended Cross Village Elementary School, then attended school in Harbor Springs, graduating in 1963. Jim was proud of having been the MVP of his 1962 football team as well as holding school records with his mile relay team.  Jim served in the United States Army 77th Armor Fifth division from 1964 to 1966 including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon returning home he attended NCMC in Petoskey, and finished his BS degree in Trade Technical Education at Ferris State University in 1976.  Jim worked several years in Grand Rapids before returning home to Cross Village where he had a yard maintenance business. Jim also worked and retired from the maintenance department at Harbor Springs Public Schools.

Jim is survived by his brothers, Stanley (Margaret) of Petoskey and Edward (Sue) of Manistique; Nieces and Nephews Kevin (Polly) Borowski,  Mary Borowski, , Catherine (Brendan) Ingalls, Amber Borowski, Robin Moyer, Kelly (Chris) Borowski, Tracy (Bobbie) Borowski; Great nieces and nephews, Edward, Stuart, Josephine, Eleanor, Emilee, Tyler, Nathan, Evan, Jenna, Garret, Marit and Avery.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anna, and brothers Thomas and John.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Church in Cross Village on Saturday May 30th at 11:00 AM. Fr. Joseph Blasko will be the celebrant. Friends may call at the church beginning at 10:00 AM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church or Hospice of Northwest Michigan.
