Jane Robinson Clay

Jane was born in Detroit, Mi., August 25, 1923. She was the 4th of 5 girls in the family. She attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mi., where she met her future husband, Bernard Clay. They were married November 28, 1942. Most of their married life was spent in Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., where they raised their four children.

After retirement, they lived in Rogers City, Michigan, for 30 years and then a short time in Harbor Springs, Mi.

Shortly after her husband of 69 years passed, Jane moved to Pebble Creek to live with her daughter Nancy Treece and her “favorite” son-in-law, Jerry Treece. She especially enjoyed her Friday Bingo games, sponsored by the Share Bears, along with her many new friends there. She also looked forward to participating in the twice weekly Sit and Stretch class at the Fitness Center.

Jane passed away minutes before Easter morn, on April 15, 2017, at the Surprise Memory Care Home where she had lived for the past six months.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on May 10, 2017, at 10:30 am, at Christ Presbyterian Church, 925 N. Sarival Ave., Goodyear, 85338.

Her family will remember and celebrate her life on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Schiller Funeral Home in Harbor Springs.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service which will be led by Rev. David Behling will begin at 11:00 a.m.  She will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery.
