Janine Louise (Riha) SaputoMay 27, 1948 ~ August 5, 2017 (age 69)
Janine Riha-Saputo, born May, 1948, of Harbor Springs, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side. She was raised in Berkley, Michigan and graduated Valedictorian from St. Mary's high school of Royal Oak. Janine was a graduate of Wayne State University while working full time in data processing immediately following high school graduation.
Her professional career spanned almost 50 years in various technology and management fields, primarily for GM and EDS.
Janine's primary passion was historic preservation. Her enthusiasm and dedication brought her success at the local, state and national levels.
She leaves behind her husband, Chuck; her mother, Jean Riha; two sisters and three brothers; and numerous nephews and nieces from both families. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Riha; and a brother, Gerard.
Cremation will take place immediately. A celebration of life is being planned in the Oakland County, Michigan area. Details will be communicated via social media and other common means.
Janine requested that donations, in lieu of flowers, be made in her name to one of the following organizations: Michigan Historic Preservation Network, Michigan Barn Preservation Network, PBS Television, Alliance for the Great Lakes, and The Arabian Horse Trust.
