Jeanette Y. (Gilbert) Day

Jeanette Y Day, 79, of Burton, MI. passed away at her home on Thursday, June 16, 2016.

Visitation will be held at Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River, MI from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Thursday, June 23, 2016.  Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 3:00pm.  Jeff Dinner will officiate.  Interment will be at Ohioville Cemetery in Indian River.  A luncheon will follow the interment.

Jeanette was born in Flint, MI on November 25, 1936.  She was the daughter of James and Ethel Gilbert.  She grew up in Flint and attended Bentley public schools. 

On May 25, 1957 Jeanette married Edward Day in Genesee, MI.  The couple made their home in Flint where they started raising their family, later moving to Flushing, MI.  Upon Ed's retirement in 1983 the couple moved to Gladwin where they lived until moving to Indian River in 2004.  Ed preceded her in death in January, 2010.  In 2014 Jeanette moved to Burton, MI where she has been since.

Jeanette enjoyed handiwork and starting quilts.  She loved to cook for her family, making delicious fried foods and deserts.  She loved being surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her sons; James of Burton, Kevin of Gladwin; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; Mother, Ethel Gilbert of Pine Island, FL; siblings, Ron (Reene) Gilbert of Pine Island, FL, Debbie (Gilbert) Rincon of Lapeer, MI, Tim (Linda) Gilbert of Burton, MI, Tom Gilbert of Lynchburg, VA; several nieces and nephews.  Jeanette was preceded in death by her father, James Gilbert, Sr.; her children, Kim Lintz and Kenneth Day, and her brother, James Gilbert, Jr.
