John D. Walton, Sr., 88 of Harbor Springs, Michigan, died March 7, 2018 at Hiland Cottage Hospice House in Petoskey, Michigan.
John was born February 25, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Sylvia and Harold Walton. He grew up in Grosse Pointe and attended school at Valley Forge Academy, Grosse Pointe High School, and Babson College.
In May 1986, he married Pamela Manchester in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
John worked as a salesman for Waggoner Corporation; owner of Walton Font sales agency; Walway Corporation; Bay Port MFG; Bay Mex Inc; and co-owner of Crooked River Tavern.
In his free time, he enjoyed socializing with his many friends, golfing and boating. He was a member of the Lochmoor Club, Delray Dunes Country Club, Birchwood Farms Country Club and Orchard Lake Country Club.
John is survived by his wife, Pamela; five children, John Jr. (Ann) Walton, Sara Lynn Walton, Ann Robb, Michael Walton and Cathie (Steve) Fieser; grandchildren, Emily and Johnny, Sara and Jennifer, and Bruce and Chris; six great grandchildren; and siblings, Julia W Shirk and Janet (Henry) Eggers.
Services are pending and will be announced by Stone Funeral Home at a later date.
