Joseph "Joe" Misner

On December 9th, at the age of 63, Joseph “Joe” Misner of Cheboygan, officially entered the realm of the “living challenged”.  While Joe was convinced that he would live forever, it appears this was not the case for him.  He would not have wanted an obituary but who does so we are just calling this a short story with an unfortunate ending.

While still entertaining the world of the living, Joe worked as an electrical technician at J.B. Webb Company where he was employed for 37 years.  Prior to that he served in the Navy on the USS Fox in California as a sonar technician.

Joe loved to tell stories, some of which were true and some were not.  You never really knew what you were going to get when talking to him.  Many stories were likely exaggerated but those were the best ones.  Joe filled his life with adventure, laughter, and a large share of individuality.  Joe’s well-known stubbornness and larger than life personality will not be forgotten.

Joe had always been captivated by technology, whether it was at home or at work.  He enjoyed seeing how things worked and finding ways to improve them.  He also loved reading, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with his family.  Joe always had a smile on his face and went out of his way to ensure everyone else did, as well.

His daughter Inga Roberts, his son Joseph Misner, his sister Judy Glowniak, his brother George Misner, and countless other family and friends outlast Joe in the world of the living.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Joseph and Vivian (O’Connor) Misner.

Joe would have hated knowing there would be a memorial so, instead, we are having a celebration of life, which will take place at 7:00 pm, Friday, December 22 at the Life Worship Center, 901 VFW Road, Cheboygan, Michigan 49721.

Memorial contributions in Joe’s name may be made to the American Heart Association or to www.gofundme.com/joe-misners-funeral-expenses. Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
