Kent Swain

Kent Swain, 61 of Petoskey, died May 2, 2016 at the Hiland Cottage in Petoskey, MI.

Kent was born on December 6, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Hoag) Swain and proudly served his country in the US Navy.

Kent was a very outgoing, fly by the seat of your pants kind of guy! He drove semi cross country and loved it as much as he didn't. He had a knack for all things outdoors, and loved hunting and fishing. There are very few people that Kent knew that doesn't have a good fishing story with him in it. 

He loved his grand kids very much and would do anything for them. He was a great guy who would give you the shirt off his back.  He will be greatly missed and loved beyond words.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Swain; 4 children, Tiffany (Jeffrey) Radford, Nicholas Swain, Dawn (Stan) Masiwchuk; 6 step children; 8 grand kids; and by his mother-in-law, Evelyn Bare.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Bair and Thomas Swain.

A memorial service celebrating Kent's life will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church in Charlevoix.  The family will receive friends at the church on May 7th from 9:00am until the time of service.

Arrangements are in the care of the Stone Funeral Home of Petoskey.
