Leslie G. Gibson

Leslie G. Gibson, 77, of Oden, Michigan, died July 17, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

Les was born on April 7, 1940, the son of James H. Gibson, Sr. and Lillian (Pope) Gibson. He grew up and graduated from Petoskey High School.

Les worked in public accounting for 10 years in the Muskegon area. Then went to work for the city of Norton Shores for 8 years as its first Finance Director. He worked the remaining 22 years of his career as Finance Director for the City of Novi retiring in 1999 and returning to the Petoskey area.

Les enjoyed traveling with his sister, Mary and working on projects in his spare time.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Les is survived by his sister, Mary Breeze; brother, Clyde (Anne) Gibson; sister-in-law, Barbara Gibson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Clair; brothers, James H. Gibson, Jr. (Doris) and Gerald Edward Gibson; and nephew, James Patrick Breeze.

There will be a memorial service at Stone Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Father Dennis Stilwell.  There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service.
