Welcome to the memorial page for

Lillian Elizabeth (Kemp) Miller

August 28, 1930 ~ November 30, 2016 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Lillian Elizabeth Miller (Kemp) died November 30, 2016. She was born August 28, 1930, in Petoskey, Michigan.

Mother of three children, Steven, Christine and Rebecca, and substitute mother to dozens, Lillian demonstrated love. Always an encourager, a listening ear, a helping hand, a ready prayer warrior, Lillian touched many lives.

Retiring as a social worker from State of Michigan in 1990, Lillian spent the last 26 years living lake side in Barryton, being active in church and community. Made by her hand many pies served Barryton Senior Center fund raising dinners. VFW bingo players ate her cakes and Chippewa Hills Baptist Church benefited from her pot luck cooking. After her husband, George died in 1990, basket weaving became a hobby with results coveted by recipients.  Barryton Public Library saw revolving doors as Lillian checked out 200 books yearly to satisfy her love of reading.

Lillian is proceeded in death by her husband George Miller, son Steven Ryal, and first husband, Dwight Ryal; survivors include daughters Christine (William) Parker of Petoskey, Rebecca (Tom) Stephens of Las Vegas Nevada, step-daughter Celeste (Perry) Kotick of Powell Ohio; grandchildren, Jeff (Kelley) Ryal, Kevin Ryal, Dan (Gabriella) Hamilton, Jordan Kotick, Molly Kotick; great-grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Abigail, Alyssa, Keagan, Kaleb, and Dominic; and her brother, Frank (Betty) Kemp. Many extended family and friends miss her and look forward to rejoicing with her in heaven.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at Stone Funeral Home, Petoskey, Michigan, followed by funeral services performed by Pastor Charles Richardson of Chippewa Hills Baptist Church, Remus Michigan.
