Lora Ann (Blakemore) Erxleben

   Lora Ann Erxleben 47 of Harbor Springs passed away peacefully July 20, 2016 at Hiland Cottage Hospice with her family by her bedside. Lora was born May 13, 1969 in Petoskey to William J. and June C. (Miller) Blakemore. She grew up in Harbor Springs where she attended school and graduated from High School in 1987. On October 24, 1987 she married Michael Erxleben and they made their home in Harbor Springs. For many years she acted as the office manager at the family owned Best Western Motel. Her enjoyment came from being a wife and mother. While raising her three children she attended and volunteered at as many of their school activities and sports events as her illness would allow. She provided many snacks and meals for the sports teams that her children were a part of and helped organize many of their class parties.

   Lora is survived by her husband Mike, children Kathryn, Michael W. and Christopher. Also surviving are her parents Bill and June Blakemore, her sisters Marsha (Kirk) Bristor and Sondra (Ted) Festerling and many nieces and nephews.

   In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to American Legion Post 281 of Harbor Springs, Holy Childhood Church or to Lora’s children to help further their education.

   Funeral services will take place on Monday July 25th at 2:00 PM at the Holy Childhood Parish Hall. Chaplain Edward Warner will officiate. A visitation will take place on Sunday from 5-7:00 PM at Stone Funeral Home 2098 E. Mitchell Petoskey, Mi. Online messages of condolence may be made at stonefuneralhomeinc.
