LuElla Mae Lint

May 18, 1946 ~ May 3, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old

LuElla Mae Lint, 70 of Petoskey, died May 3, 2017 at her home.

LuElla was born on May 18, 1946 in Jackson, MI, the daughter of Edward and Edna (Tomlinson) Barnes and was raised in Concord, MI.  She attended the little school house there and went back in her adulthood and got her GED.

She was on a bowling league and enjoyed soap operas and crossword puzzles, however her greatest joy in life was her family.  LuElla was truly the anchor of the family and she treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved her camping trips and trips to the beach with her family, as well as the time she spent at the “West Fest”.

LuElla is survived by 4 children, Richard (Holli) Abbott of Fremont, Karen Saeman of Petoskey, Benjamin (Michelle) Abbott of Vanderbilt, and Dawn Abbott of Lansing; a brother, Edward (Barb) Barnes; 9 grandchildren; 5 great granddaughters; former husband, David Peterson and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Franklin and Charles Barnes and Richard Pickering; 4 sisters, Carol “Genie” Pickering, Sharon Donohue, Louise Torrant, and Katherine Pahl; and by a great granddaughter, Lillian; and by 2 husbands, Floyd Abbott and Kenneth Lint.

The family will receive friends at the Indian River Baptist Church on May 4th from 6-8pm.  Services celebrating LuElla’s life will be held at the church on Friday, May 5th at 11:00am with Pastor Jeff Gwilt officiating.

Arrangements are in the care of the Stone Funeral Home of Petoskey.
