Magdalen Rose (Kruskie) Kosequat

Madge (Magdalen Rose) Kosequat of Harbor Springs walked on Jun 16, 2017 at her home.

She was born April 13, 1923 in Cross Village, MI, the daughter of Andrew and Susie (Ransom) Kruskie. She grew up in Cross Village, attended Cross Village and Harbor Springs High Schools. On February 20, 1946 she married Joe Kosequat in Cross Village.

Madge worked at numerous homes in Weque and on Harbor Point for many years. She also worked as a teacher’s aide at Holy Childhood. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Lions. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandkids. She was a member of Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians, the St. Ann's Alter Society of Holy Childhood Church and a member of the Emmet County Bay Bluffs Auxiliary.

Madge is survived by her son Mark (Barb) Kosequat, daughter Jan (Roy/Beetle) Bailey, grandsons Shawn M Stone, Joey K Bailey, John J Kosequat, her great-grandsons Brody Kosequat and Michael Bailey, honorary grandkids, Mary, Jake & Jen Hickman and her sister Ethel Lawler.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Kosequat, son, Michael Kosequat, daughter Jolene Ester, brother’s George, Leonard, and Raymond Kruskie, sisters Suzanna Crick, Isabelle France and Lucille Shull.

Visitation will be held at Madge's home, 582 E Main St, Harbor Springs, MI on Thursday, June 22nd from 12pm-8pm. A funeral mass will take place on June 23rd at Holy Childhood Church in Harbor Springs, at 11am with visitation at 10am with Father Joe officiating.
