Marian L. (Hagstrom) McCorkle

Marian L. McCorkle (Hagstrom), age 86, of Cheboygan passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016.

She was born June 13, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Bailey and Mildred (Harrington) Behn. The family moved to Detroit when she was four and had lived most of her life in Livonia and Canton until moving to Cheboygan in 1992.

Marian wore many hats from church organist, choir director, piano and organ teacher, secretary for the Livonia Board of Education, administrative assistant at Glanz & Killian and Cub Scout den mother. She is the former organist for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cheboygan, the Little Stone Church on Mackinac Island (where she had also served as the wedding coordinator), the West Outer Drive United Methodist Church in Detroit, Lola Valley United Methodist Church in Redford and Grace Church in Detroit. Marian was an avid Rotarian and a friend to all. She loved her family, faith and friends and will be deeply missed.

Marian is the beloved mother of Larry (Sharon) Hagstrom of Cheboygan, Paula Hagstrom Reitz of Novi, MI and Brian L. (Monica Haught) Hagstom of Cheboygan, devoted grandmother to Jessica and Charles Reitz, Brian C. Hagstrom, and two four legged grandpups, Mick and Ellie. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Steven Hagstrom.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the service. A luncheon at the church will immediately follow the service. Memorial contributions in Marian’s name may be directed to the Cheboygan County Humane Society.
