Mary Ellen (Welsh) Nomecos

Mary Ellen Nomecos, 65 of Cheboygan, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at home.

A resident of the area since 2006, moving from Southgate, Mary was born August 23, 1949 in Dearborn, the daughter of James and Irene (Welsh) Navarre.  She was a graduate of Dearborn High School, and on October 20, 1979 in Plymouth, she married John Nomecos, who survives.  She attended Cross in the Woods Catholic Church in Indian River, and enjoyed music, painting in oils, water, and pencil media, and the arts.

Surviving are her husband, John, a daughter, Carrie Beaubien of Newberry, five grandchildren, Stephanie, James “J.R.”, Courtney, Sarah, and Sean, a great grandson, Joshua, six siblings, Jeanette Barker, and Michael, Patrick, Richard, and Edmond Navarre, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 1:00pm, with visitation beginning at noon, at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan, with Deacon Rob Pahlkotter officiating.
