Michael L. Hanula

Michael L. “Mike” Hanula, age 62, of Cheboygan passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his home. He was born January 31, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Joseph and Bertha (Christ) Hanula. On October 13, 1990, Mike married Lisa Carpentier who survives.

For the past 16 years, Mike had worked in maintenance department at the Cheboygan County Building. He enjoyed “tinkering” and was a hard worker who was always willing to help out a friend. His generosity touched the lives of many. Mike loved his family and always enjoyed spending time with them. He had a great sense of humor was happy and full of life.

Besides his wife Lisa, Mike is survived by his two daughters, Heather (Bill) Hudspath of Latrobe, PA and Stacy (Mickey) Agee of Cheboygan, three sisters, Pat (Ray) Grosz and Percie (Dave) Neidermeier, both of Pittsburgh and Marie Essig of Plymouth, MI, four grandchildren, Jesse Hudspath, Monica Hanula, Abbey Hudspath and Paige Hudspath. He is also survived by his in-laws Joseph Carpentier, Gerald Carpentier, Darlene (Randy) Caswell, and Greg (Karen) Carpentier. As well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joseph Hanula, his brother-in-law, David Essig and his nephew, Michael Essig. He will be truly missed by all of us who knew him.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Life Worship Center with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the service. Pastors Sam Agee and Michael Konieczny will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
