Mickey Allen Howard

Mickey Alan Howard, 55 of Boyne Falls, Michigan died on Friday January 20, 2017 unexpectedly at his home. Mickey was a lifelong resident of his Howard family homestead in Boyne Falls and was born on January 23, 1961 to his late parents Ernest and Leona (Hoatlin) Howard. He is survived by his brother, Tom (Kathy) Howard of Boyne falls and sisters, Sally (Tony) Sevenski, Linda (Jim) Sevenski, and many nieces and nephews. His brothers, Jerry and David Howard preceded him in death.

Mickey was a valued and longtime employee of Jerry’s Garage for over 30 years working side by side with his brother Jerry and nephew, Brian. He was hard working and one you could call a “jack of all trades” with prior employment at Skop Masonry and Matelski Lumber Co. He had a strong work ethic and was very dedicated to getting the job done no matter how long it took.

Mickey was an avid fisherman and hunter with ever a good story about bagging that swamp monster buck or finding the “first of the season” or biggest morel mushroom. In his younger years he enjoyed turning circles at the local racetrack in Elmira and was very much a NASCAR/Earnhardt fan. He had a fondness for vintage collections and enjoyed “a ride” around the countryside. Family was everything to him, after the passing of his father Ernest, Mickey stayed on the family homestead to care for his aging mother until she passed. Fraley Road will never be the same and he will be deeply missed by all.

A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Thursday January 26 from 11a-2p at the Boyne Falls Township Hall, 2489 Railroad St, Boyne Falls, MI 49713. The family welcomes you to share in this remembrance honoring “Mick’s” life. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for you to come and share a story or a favorite picture with them.
