Mitchel Lee Coates

Mitchel Lee Coates Sr., 65, of Boyne City passed away on Wednesday April 20th, 2016, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 16, 1950 in Trenton, MI to Harvey Lavern Coates and Cora Erma Abel

He is Survived by his Children John Allen (Chela) Coates, Isaac Daniel (DeNae) Coates, Michelle Lee (Margo) Alcazar, Mitchel Lee (Kayla) Coates and his Grandchildren Joy & Jordan Coates, Kathryn & Kimberly Coates, Selena, Eric & Kevin Alcazar, Sophia & Abigail Coates

He is also survived by his Brother John Coates, and his two Sister’s Lois Carter & Cheryl Pyle.

Mitchel was a decorated war veteran who gave a part of his life to the protection of the nation’s freedom and he was proud to have done so. He will always will be remembered to be the first to voice his opinion, but he taught those who loved him to have a voice for themselves as well.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday April 30, 2016 at West Lakefield Cemetery McMillian, MI. Arrangements will be held by Stackus funeral home of Boyne City.
