Myrtle (Bergstrom) Sova

Myrtle Beatrice Sova, 86, of Cheboygan passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 surrounded by her family at Medilodge of Cheboygan.

She was born August 11, 1931 in Cheboygan, the daughter of George and Hilda (Olson) Bergstrom. Myrtle was an LPN who touched the lives of many people during her years of service at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital, Tendercare, the Cheboygan Senior Center, and as a home care nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her church, family, friends and especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Mike (Becky) Sova, and Pat Sova, both of Cheboygan, her grandchildren, Michael (Tanya), Shawn, Mallory, Reuben, Jack and her great grandchildren Marissa, Hunter, Lily, Mason, and Keegan, sister Inga Woiderski, twin sister Marie (Carl) Ranke, sisters-in-law Shirley and Helen Bergstrom, and brother-in-law Arnold Gahn, all of Cheboygan, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Howard, Reuben, Zetta Bedore, Lawrence, Albert, Paul and Lillian Gahn.

A funeral service will take place at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 1:00pm, with the family greeting friends beginning at noon.  Chaplain Joe Sereno will officiate, burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Benton Township.
