Rita Boza

Rita L. Boza, 93, of Cheboygan, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Hospice House in Cheboygan.

Rita was born April 5, 1924 in Detroit, the daughter of Jozef and Kazimiera (Nowicki) Zarembski.  On July 18, 1943 at St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Detroit, she married Frank Boza, who preceded her in death in 1981.  She moved to northern Michigan in 1964, and later to Cheboygan in 1977.  With great pleasure she enjoyed reading Agatha Christie novels, with her favorite character being Hercule Poirot. Rita was a member of the Cheboygan Eagles Auxiliary since 1978, and received the “Mother of the Year” award in 2016.

Surviving are her daughter, Antoinette “Toni” (Robert) Kazmierowski of Cheboygan.  She also leaves behind a beloved niece, Judy Miller of Clinton Township, two very special grand nieces, Michelle Miller and Melissa Morelli, who consistently sent her cards of love and encouragement during her stay at Hospice House, and leaves behind several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Frank, she was preceded in death by her father, Jozef, her mother, Kazimiera Zarembski - Struzik, a granddaughter, Renee Kazmierowski, a grandson, Adam Kazmierowski, her brothers, Joseph and Frank Struzik, and a sister in law, who she considered as a sister, Dorothy Baginski.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Cheboygan Hospice House Solarium, with Chaplain Dianne Meyers officiating.
