Robert Freeby Obituary

Robert L. Freeby, 90, of Cheboygan, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Villa at the Bay in Petoskey.

Bob was born April 2, 1929 in Green Oak Township, Livingston County, Michigan, the son of Lester and Edna Schwinke. He grew up in southern Michigan, and resided in Indian River for about 25 years, later moving to Oklahoma. After residing in Oklahoma for 25 years, he moved back to Cheboygan in 2014. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are three sons, Robert (Eileen) Freeby of Washington State, Gary Freeby of Oklahoma, and Michael Freeby of Cheboygan, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Harold Freeby.

No services are planned at this time.
