Ronald Mackley "Mac" Rockwell

   Ronald Mackley “Mac” Rockwell 71 of Harbor Springs passed away June 27, 2016 at his home. He was born September 23, 1944 in Port Huron, Mi. to M. Jerrie and Martha E. (Dalrymple) Rockwell. He grew up in Harbor Springs and graduated from Harbor Springs High School. He married Jeannette Vincent on June 15, 1966 in Harbor Springs. He served in the US Navy in Vietnam as a corpsman and was detached to the Marines. While there he earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Mac served on the Harbor Springs Police Dept. from 1975-1981. He continued on the police reserves until 1991. Mac worked as a locksmith and a safe and vault technician from 1982-2002. He was a licensed firearms dealer and a collector of firearms. He enjoyed being with friends at hunting camp in the UP.

   Mac was a former member of the Smith-Hoover Post of the American Legion and the Associated Locksmiths of America.

   Survivors include his wife Jeannette, children Tamara Rockwell and Steven Rockwell and grandchildren Melissa Rockwell, Emma Rockwell, Jonathen Rockwell and William Needham. He is also survived by his sister Jerris Makee and nieces and nephews.

   The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Vital Care Hospice c/o McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation 360 Connable Ave. Petoskey, MI 49770.

   A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Schiller Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM.. Chaplain Edward Warner will officiate. Online messages of condolence may be made at stonefuneralhomeinc.com.
