Sandra Rusch

Sandra Rusch, 72, of Indian River, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.

A resident of the Indian River area since 1990, moving from St. Clair Shores, Sandra was born April 9, 1943 in East Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas and Nancy (Lynn) Sprott.  On April 9, 1985 in St. Clair Shores, she married Robert Rusch.  Prior to moving to the area, she had worked as a paralegal secretary, and later owned and operated the Ensley Avenue Clothing Store, both in St. Clair Shores.  After moving to the area, she was employed at Nephew’s in Cheboygan, and for 13 years was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at the Indian River Country Club, retiring in 2005.  She enjoyed boating, and was an avid golfer, and was a former member of the Indian River Country Club.

Surviving is her husband, Robert, a son, Jeff(Jan) Schwartzenberg of Amarillo, Texas, three grandchildren, Jonathan, Annika, and Jakob Schwartzenberg, a brother, Tom(Mona) Sprott of California, a sister, Nancy (Fred) Ward of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Todd Schwartzenberg.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1:00pm, with the family greeting friends beginning at noon, at the Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River, with Rev. John Wallace officiating.
