Suzanne Burrus

Suzanne Burrus, 76, of Indian River, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.

Suzanne was born September 2, 1940 in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Russel and Alpha (Blakemore) Cochems.  On August 20, 1961 in Las Vegas, she married Richard D. Burrus.  The couple made their home in Orange County, California until moving to Indian River in 1971.

She was the business manager for Inland Lakes School from 1974-1998.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  In her younger years she enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing.  In retirement she became a diligent writer and published the book "Field of Generations" along with several poems.  She also enjoyed painting and sculpting.

She will be deeply missed by family and friends, and any condolences may be sent to her family.

Surviving are her three children, Kelsey Burrus, and Trent (Karen) Burrus, both of Indian River, and Brandi (Chris) Otten of Marne, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Richard on February 22, 1998.

There will be no services.
