Theresa (Viau) Darrow

Theresa Darrow, 87, of Mackinaw City, died January 17, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.

Theresa was born on October 13, 1929, the daughter of Noah and Aurilla Viau. She grew up in Cheboygan and was a graduate of Cheboygan High School.

In October 1947, she married Don Darrow, together they had two sons, Randy and Glen.

Theresa and her husband, Don, opened Darrow's Family Restaurant in early 1950's. The restaurant was Theresa's passion. She loved making comfort food for her family and customers. Her famous pies and soups will always be remembered.

Theresa spent her winters in Fort Myers, Florida, where she enjoyed playing cards with friends.

She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and St. Anthony's Church in Mackinaw City.

Theresa is survived by her sons, Randy (Traci) Darrow and Glen (Robin) Darrow; her grandchildren, Christopher (Jamie), Elizabeth (Chris), Alanna (Herbert), Eric (Jesse), Glen and Wesley; great grandchildren, Christopher Sean, Caroline, Catherine and Elias; and her brother, Charles.

Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, Don; and her siblings, Mary Louise, Helen and John.

Theresa's family is planning a private memorial at a later date.
