My sympathies to all who loved him. I was his student in the early to mid 70's. I took every class he taught and was his student office assistant one semester. His Third World Literature class had a profound influence on my view of the world that continues even today. He was the epitome of cool and an excellent teacher. May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to learn of Tom's death. My late husband taught at Dow High with him, and both of my sons had him as an instructor. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Tom (and Marje) were dear friends for so many years in Mt. Pleasant and we are so saddened to hear about Tom. Although we lost touch in recent years as sometimes happens, we will always treasure the many good times we shared here as well as on the island and in Petoskey. Tom's quick wit and devotion to friends will always be remembered by us as well as many others. The two of them were a great pair. Our sympathy to Chirs, Benn, and all the family.

We were so saddened to hear of Tom's passing. We will always remember all the hours he spent working for and on the church and Hoover Building. And those Christmas letters! Who could ever forget them? We spent many an evening talking on our front porch--Tom and Marge's daily walks often ended up there, with a glass (or 2) of wine and lots of laughs. Our condolences to your whole family.

We will always treasure the fond memories of Tom (and Marje) as best friends and neighbors during the 25 years on Riverside Drive. Tom always had a kind word and offered a willing, capable hand. Impromptu drop-in visits often led to memorable conversations as we shared a libation (or two).
Our thoughts and condolences to Marje, Chris, Benn and all of Tom's family and friends.

Tom was a true gentleman; a gentle, caring soul who loved life and Boblo! He had a way of making a person feel that they were the center of attention, even as he bustled around w/ several tasks. He loved hugs (and gave good ones), talking, and his family, not in that order! Tom was a huge asset to the Island and will be greatly missed! Much love and many prayers to Marjie and family!
