Frank Lewis Pifher, Indian River, age 92 went to be with our Lord and savior April 5, 2024. He passed away peacefully at home. Cremation has taken place, according to his wishes.
A Celebration of his great life will honor him on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, visitation will take place with friends and family from noon to 3 PM at Stone Funeral Home, Indian River, Michigan a service will follow at 3:30 pm.
Frank was born in Flint, Michigan on March 1st, 1932, to Norman and Helen Pifher and graduated from Beecher High School, Class of 1950. He served honorably in the U.S. Army with combat service in the Korean Conflict. After service he married Mary Lou Stanhope on June 19, 1954.
Frank retired from General Motors after 38 years of faithful service in 1990. Shortly after retiring, Mary Lou and Frank moved to Indian River. He loved fishing and camping and was a member of the Holiday Rambler travel club, but was happiest when he was on his tractor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Mary Lou, three children, Janet (Jon) Vance, Rebecca (Daynor) Smith, James (Mae) Pifher, a daughter in law Sandy, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding his death were parents, Norman and Helen, sister Catherine, brother Donald, and son Timothy Pifher.
