Adrien LeMarble Obituary

Adrien D. LeMarble, 94, of Levering, Michigan, formerly of Alma, Michigan, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at Boulder Park Terrace in Charlevoix.

 Adrien resided with his daughter in Levering after moving from Alma, MI. The son of Arcade A. and Hulda K. (Wiegman) LeMarble, Adrien was born September 10, 1924 in Painesville, Ohio, but grew up in DeGraff, Ohio.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a motor machinist mate 3rd class on the U.S.S. Griswold DE-7.  On August 8, 1952 in Ovid, Michigan, he married Florence Evelyn, who preceded him in death in 2013.  He entered the ministry in 1952 after Owosso Bible College, and served as a pastor throughout north Michigan, first in the Nazarenne church and in 1953, transferring to the Free Methodist Church.  Adrien received his BA degree from Spring Arbor College in 1966 and worked as an elementary school teacher for many years in Ashley, Alba, Mancelona, and retired from the Alma Public School system. He later was active in Big Brothers and the Special Olympics.  He was a member of the VFW, and enjoyed reading and the card sending ministry at New Hope United Methodist Church in Levering.

Surviving are his children, Wesley LeMarble of Cheboygan, Yvonne Elaine (Matt) Blair of Levering, Wayne David LeMarble of Holt, MI, and Daniel (Thelma) LeMarble of Raleigh, NC, a brother, Albert LeMarble of Mt. Morris, MI, four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Anthony) McGowan, Capt Richard (Molly) Blair, Rachel LeMarble, and Caleb LeMarble, four great grandchildren, Brayden and Logan McGowan, and Elijah and Noah Blair, and three nieces.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Florence.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30am until the time of the funeral service at noon, at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Levering.  Pastor Dave Jewell and Pastor Michele Merchant will officiate, interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date.
