Albin H. Rabideau

Albin H. Rabideau, 84, of Cheboygan, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.

Albin was born January 15, 1933 in Cheboygan, the son of William and Ada (Carlson) Rabideau.  On August 9, 1952 in Cheboygan, he married Audrey Stewart.  He attended Cheboygan Public Schools.  He then sailed with Bradley Transportation of Rogers City, and later was employed by General Motors, Oldsmobile Division, Plant #3 in Lansing, retiring in 1989 as a fixture repairman after 25 years of service.  He enjoyed fishing, watching Detroit Lions and Tigers, the Green Bay Packers, and was a member of UAW Local #652 in Lansing, and the Elks Club.

Surviving are his wife, Audrey, his children, William “Bill” (Sue) Rabideau of Indian River, Edward (Ursula) Rabideau of Lansing, Carla (Ray) Baker of Grand Ledge, Donald (Ann) Rabideau of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Linda Karaba of Bellevue, Robert (Sandi) Rabideau of Okemos, and Jerry (Amy) Rabideau of Spring Lake, 52 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great grandchildren, a sister, Avis Pyscher of Alma, and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Beverly (Ray) Anderson of Cheboygan

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Vera Peterson, Ada Shawl, Elaine Lofgren, and Marge Schmidt, three brothers, Vern, Ben, and Charles Rabideau, a grandson, and a great granddaughter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 4:00pm – 8:00 pm, at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00am, with the family greeting friends beginning at 10:00am, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Cheboygan with a luncheon immediately following the service. Pastor Dave Wallis will officiate.
