Andrea Rose Rousseau, 42 of Gladwin and formerly of Pellston, died January 15, 2020 in Mount Pleasant, MI.
Andrea was born on February 15, 1977 in Petoskey, the daughter of Joseph Carter and Terry Lee Wabanimkee. At the age of 5, Andrea’s family moved to Arizona before returning to Pellston, MI when she was 13. She graduated from Pellston High school with the Class of 1995. Andrea worked as a Hotel Clerk for the Ramada Inn in Mackinaw City and later at the Odawa Hotel in Petoskey.
On April 23, 2009, Andrea married Adam Rousseau in Petoskey and in 2010 they moved to Gladwin where they still reside.
Andrea enjoyed boating, fishing, and scrapbooking, but her greatest passion was her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother and at all her kids sporting events and was even a mother to those kids she took care of. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Adam; 5 children, Evan (Amanda), Conner, Jacy, Tyler, and Mackayla; unofficially adopted son, who she treated as her own, Jeremy Johnson; father and step-mother, Joseph and Carrie Carter; sister, Casey (Caleb) Storey; and by her close friend, Lisa DeLaCruz.
Andrea was preceded in death by her mother, Terry Lee Wabanimkee in 2001.
A funeral service celebrating Andrea’s life will b held on January 25th at 11am at the Greensky Hill Indian United Methodist Church of Charlevoix. The family will receive friends at the church form 10am until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at the Greensky Hill Cemetery.
