Benjamin A. “Ben” Fisher, age 52 of Indian River passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his home. He was born March 28, 1967 in Fort Lewis, WA, the son of Benjamin J. and Bonnie (Shoehart) Fisher.
Shortly after graduating from John Glenn High School in Bay City in 1985, Ben enlisted in the U.S. Army serving with the 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, New York. He was a member of the Indian River Eagles Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his parents, Ben (Inez) Fisher of Indian River, sister, Becky (Ken) Dennis of Bay City, half-sister, Julie (Ed) Thornton of Bay City, step-brother, Fred (Lori) Avila of Bay City, two step-sisters, Dawn (Duane Hornbacher) Blake of Caro, and Vicky Charbonneau of Bay City, step-father, Larry Winters of Bay City and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Winters, half-brother, Chad Winters and his special cousin, Rick Fisher.
