Corey Jerome Sulak

Corey Sulak, 33, of Boyne City, Michigan, died July 31 at McLaren Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan, with his loving family at his side.

Corey was born August 8, 1983 at Charlevoix Area Hospital in Charlevoix, Michigan, the son of Leon Sulak and Kathryn (Lake) Sulak.

He grew up in Boyne City and attended Boyne City High School, NCMC and Saginaw Valley State University.

He lived with the love of his life Mandy (Hardy) and their two children, Lily and CJ, in Boyne City.

He worked for Boyne USA for 17 years, most recently as the Food and Beverage Stock Supervisor .

Corey loved to hunt and fish with his dad (Leon), mom (Kathy) and brother (Casey), and loved spending time canoeing and camping with his family and friends. He loved to play and attend all kinds of sporting events, and was an avid Michigan fan. His greatest joy was spending time with Mandy, and teaching and coaching Lily and CJ to enjoy all of the above activities. Corey loved being a dad to his children and always said "You're not promised tomorrow, so make today the best!"

The family suggests memorials be for his children and their future.

Corey is survived by his parents Leon (Ivan), Kathryn (Lake) Sulak, and brother Casey, the love of his life Mandy, daughter Lily and son CJ, and Grandmother Lolita Lake, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Grandparents Jerome and Agnes Sulak and Grandfather Eldon Lake.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 2:00-4:00 PM at Boyne Mountain in the Vienna Room with a time of sharing starting at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
