Darryl Albert Pfister, 79 of Indian River passed away on November 2, 2018 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.
Darryl was born on August 31, 1939 in Detroit, MI the son of Albert Pfister and Dorothy (Barnes) Pfister. He grew up in Detroit and Southfield, MI and attended school at Southfield High School. He later went on to attend General Motors Institute. On May 13, 1972 he married Kathleen Chenevere in St. Bedes Catholic Church in Southfield. Darryl enjoyed golfing, boating, snowmobiling, walking, biking, tinkering around in the yard, and the senior exercise class held at Xcel physical therapy. He was a member of the Indian River Snowmobile Club, the GM Ski Club, Blue Cross Ski Club, Kiwanis Club, Indian River Sportsman's Club, the Marina Park Committee, the Indian River Eagles, and was also a past president of the American Society of Body Engineers.
Darryl is survived by his wife Kathleen Pfister, children Alan Pfister and Kara (Kevin) Walker, grandchildren Isaac Pfister, Mason Pfister, Hayden Walker, Joseph Walker, and Luke Walker, sibling Karen Winter, and siblings in law Leo Chenevere and Virginia Chenevere, as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents Albert A. Pfister, Lillian Heinold, Roland Barnes, and Alma Seidl.
Services for Darryl will be held at the Lintz Funeral Home on Saturday, November 10th. Visitation will begin at 11am with a memorial service at 1pm. There will be a luncheon to follow.
