Dion Gregory Fineout

Dion Gregory Fineout, 51 of Petoskey, Michigan passed away on October 30, 2019 at his home in the presence of his loving family.

Son of Delmar L. Fineout and Michaelyn (Deschermeier) Halbeisen, Dion was born on February 2, 1968 in Petoskey. Dion grew up in multiple areas around the county and went to Petoskey High School.

On September 22, 2007 he married Suzanne Johns at Holy Childhood of Jesus Catholic Church in Harbor Springs.

Dion was very proud and enjoyed serving in the Army in 1993.

Being very regimental and meticulous about his tools and processions, Dion took care of everything he had and was very well organized. For work he painted and owned his own painting service, Paramount Painting.

Dion loved to ski and won many medals doing it. He loved to ski Mount Hood and always wanted to move to Oregon. He also loved camping, fishing, fly fishing, and making his own flies that people would come from all over to get.

Surviving Dion is his wife Suzanne (Johns) Fineout; his son Wyatt Fineout and stepdaughters: Ashley and Carey Price; his step-grandchildren: Blake, Savannah, Skylar, Maliah; his mother Michaelyn Halbeisen; his siblings D. Scott Fineout and Dr. Anna Halbeisen; his several cousins; and his many aunts, uncles, and uncle John Deschermeier that was a mentor to him.

Preceding Dion in death is his beloved dog Monte; his father Delmar L. Fineout; and his grandparents: John and Kathryn Deschermeier, and Robert and Edna Fineout.

A memorial service for Dion lead by Rev. Dave Behling will be at 1:00 PM on November 7, 2019 at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey, Michigan. An hour of gathering will begin before at 12:00 PM.

Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Dion’s memory are suggested by family to do so to his son Wyatt’s College Fund.
