I am a family friend and was introduced to Don through Julie his middle daughter. She happens to be my "steady". I knew Don a very short time (2 1/2 years), but I TRULY ENJOYED his company, his wit, his sarcasm, his downright bold sense of humor. Great and Manly qualities to say the least! He was hesitant of me at first and why wouldn't he be. I was a new love in his daughter's life and didn't really know if I was the right person for courting his beautiful "red head". He eventually witnessed that I had (and still have) nothing but the VERY BEST intentions for HIS "punky"!
I will always remember the times where stopping over at The Dixon's would bring Don to the door to see "who it is". He was always mindful of things and people around him. I truly will never forget where him and I worked on the front door innards one day, taking it ALL apart to oil, test the mechanisms, and make sure the door worked properly again. He was very good at getting his "tinkering fix" in when he needed to.
Please, rest in Peace my Friend Don Dixon as YOU ARE certainly missed here on Earth, but as a man once told me you are NEVER too far from God's Hand. Soar with the Heavenly Angels!!
